Selina Velez is the owner and operator of The Private Room, bringing 15 years of dedicated waxing expertise. Originally drawn to beauty school to pursue hair, she discovered her true calling in waxing and quickly became known for her waxing precision and signature brow artistry. Selina specializes in creating clean, balanced, natural-looking brows, delivering thorough full-body waxing results, offering expert product guidance, and providing a refined, comfortable experience for every client.

Arrive with clean, dry skin and at least 2–3 weeks of hair growth. Skip lotions, oils, or heavy exfoliation the day of your service.

A little, not as bad as you imagine and far less when you’re in skilled hands. With over 15 years of experience, I use premium wax and gentle techniques to make the process as comfortable as possible.

Yes, as long as you are wearing protection, such as a tampon or cup. Also be aware your skin may feel slightly more sensitive but your comfort is always prioritized.


Yes! Many expecting mothers choose waxing for comfort. Sensitivity may be slightly higher, but the service itself is safe and fully supported.

Absolutely. I use high-quality wax and care products designed to minimize irritation. If you have concerns, we can tailor the service to your skin’s needs.


Retinol speeds up your skin’s cell turnover, which can make it more sensitive during waxing. For your safety, we recommend pausing all retinol and prescription products on the area being waxed 7 days before your appointment.

Most guests enjoy smooth results for 3–4 weeks. With consistent waxing, hair grows back softer, finer, and less frequently.

Keep the area clean, do your best to avoid heavy sweating and friction for 24 hours, and skip exfoliation for 48 hours. After that, gentle exfoliation once to twice a week and daily hydration help prevent ingrowns and keep skin soft.

Every 4–5 weeks is ideal for maintaining smooth results and slower, sparser regrowth.

The Private Room is designed to make every intimate service feel serene and luxurious. I’ll guide you through each step, ensure your comfort, and move at a pace that’s just right for you.

Cancellation Policy

We understand things come up and value the opportunity to serve you. You will receive your first confirmation text 72 hours prior to your appointment. If you’re unable to make it, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours notice so we can accommodate others and keep our schedule running smoothly.  


A non-refundable fee of 50% of the cost of service may be applied at our discretion for no-shows, same day cancellations and cancellations within 48 hours or less.  After two no-shows, you will lose online booking privileges and a 50% deposit will be required to secure any future appointments. Continued violations may result in loss of booking priveleges indefinitely.


All deposits will go towards your balance at time of service. If you no-show your appointment, the deposit is then non-refundable.  If you will be late, please text (443) 333-9940 to ensure we can best accommodate you.
